Welcome to World Land Trust

The World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation organisation that takes direct action to save rainforest and other biologically important lands — we help local conservation organisations to buy it, acre by acre.

For more information about our current priority projects, see the Trust's conservation projects web page.

To date WLT supporters have helped save over 350,000 acres (142,000 hectares) of rainforest and other precious wildlife habitats worldwide.

The purchased is protected indefinitely as private reserves owned and managed by local organisations for the benefit of both wildlife and people.

Our Vision-

To protect and sustainably manage natural ecosystems of the world, to conserve their biodiversity, with emphasis on threatened habitats and endangered species.

To develop partnerships with local individuals, communities and organisations to engage support and commitment among the people who live in project areas.

To raise awareness, in the UK and elsewhere, of the need for conservation, to improve understanding and generate support through education, information and fundraising.

Programmes and Activities-

Conservation projects throughout the world.

Carbon Balanced - a carbon offset service by the World Land Trust.

Focus on Forests - rainforest educational resource for 11-14 year olds.
